Neil Bastian is an award-nominated musical theatre writer from South Wales. His songs have been performed all over the West End.
The Rise and Fall of Vinnie & Paul
Neil's Van Gogh musical The Rise and Fall of Vinnie & Paul was a top 5 finalist in the MTI/Stiles & Drewe Mentorship Award 2023/24.
It had a showcase performance at The Other Palace in 2023 as well as a limited run of an hour-long version in Waterloo in 2025.
‘Wheatfield with Crows’, a song from the same show, was nominated for the Stiles & Drewe Best New Song Prize 2022.
The Mayfly Man
Neil's large-cast, Wales-set musical The Mayfly Man was chosen for a BYMT workshop in summer 2024, and is being workshopped at Lincoln University in 2027.
Force Ten Gayle
Neil is also developing his adoption musical Force Ten Gayle.

Neil has contributed songs to Leading Voices LDN, Adding to the Hat, The Xmas Factor and Shadow Puppets. He is a member of Mercury Musical Developments and an alumnus of the Book, Music and Lyrics workshop.
