Neil Bastian is an award-nominated musical theatre writer based in London. His songs have been performed all over the West End.
The Rise and Fall of Vinnie & Paul, Neil's Van Gogh musical, was a top 5 finalist in the MTI/Stiles & Drewe Mentorship Award 2023/24. It had a showcase performance at The Other Palace in 2023 as well as a limited run of an hour-long version at The Glitch, Waterloo, in 2025.
‘Wheatfield with Crows’, a song from the same show, was nominated for the Stiles & Drewe Best New Song Prize 2022.
The Mayfly Man was chosen for a BYMT workshop in summer 2024. It is being workshopped at Lincoln University in 2027.
Force Ten Gayle is Neil's adoption musical, currently in development.
Neil has contributed songs to Leading Voices LDN, Adding to the Hat, The Xmas Factor and Shadow Puppets.
He is a member of Mercury Musical Developments and an alumnus of the Book, Music and Lyrics workshop.
